The Maintenance Technician performs various maintenance and repair functions for the upkeep of Williams County buildings, facilities, and grounds.

Examples of Duties:

The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents in this position. The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list and may change with or without notice. • Performs a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and repairs involving electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and groundskeeping
• Repairs minor plumbing issues, water leaks, and addresses sewer-related problems
• Executes minor electrical tasks, including changing lights and installing electrical plugs
• Maintains public grounds, including lawn maintenance, snow removal, and upkeep of walkways/parking
• Performs custodial duties, including cleaning floors and collecting garbage
• Ensures County buildings and grounds are safe and maintained, reports areas of concern to supervisor
• Repairs and maintains County equipment, including lawnmowers, tractors, trucks, and tools
• Maintains confidentiality of non-public records and makes available all data and information deemed a public record by the North Dakota Century Code

Typical Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED AND three (3) years of maintenance and/or janitorial experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Must possess a valid North Dakota Driver’s License or equivalent
• Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening

Special Working Conditions:

• Some work is performed outdoors with exposure to extreme temperatures and inclement weather
• Some work is performed in and around mechanical, industrial, and electrical equipment
• Exposure to chemicals, sewage, and dust
• Required to lift up to 60 pounds
• Occasional work outside of regular hours

Compensation: Starting pay ranges from $27.50 - $32.74 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
